Wisdom Teeth & Extractions

Tooth extractions are a last resort at our dental clinic

With the exception of wisdom teeth which may need to be extracted due to overcrowding, we’ll always try to save a tooth if possible. Even a partially or completely dead tooth may be able to be saved with Root Canal Treatment.

Some of the most common reasons why a tooth may need to be extracted are: significant tooth decay or damage; extensive tooth cracks; poor positioning; gum disease; and in preparation for orthodontic work. If necessary, your dentist will advise you on aftercare instructions such as mouth-rinses, painkillers or applying an ice pack.

Although teeth extraction might sound painful in reality most situations involve a simple and painless procedure. We use a painless local anaesthetic to numb your mouth, so the dentist can loosen and remove it for you painlessly. With our modern and safe equipment, when it comes to a visit to the dentist, you have nothing to fear at Ashmore Dental clinic.
