Gold Coast Invisalign Treatments

Invisalign Specialists Gold Coast

Ashmore Dental offer one of the most affordable Invisalign treatments on the Gold Coast. We also offer Invisalign via payment plans if you’d rather pay your treatment off over time.

If you’re wanting to straighten your teeth but don’t want to wear chunky metal braces, we have good news for you. Invisalign is a modern, teeth straightening system. It uses advanced 3D computer imaging technology to map out a treatment plan that consists of a series of clear braces (aligners) designed to perfectly fit the size, shape, and contours of your teeth.

Invisalign braces work by gradually moving your teeth into a final desired position. Because they are clear, they are popular with adults who don’t want the obvious display of ‘braces’.

Invisalign Treatment Gold Coast

Each Invisalign aligner is designed to be worn for around 2-weeks before it is replaced with the next one in the series. The thermoplastic that Invisalign aligners are made from will not irritate your gums.

Benefits of Invisalign

  • Invisalign aligners are less painful to wear than traditional metal braces
  • As the name suggested, Invisalign is clear, allowing you to wear braces that are barely noticeable
  • Aligners are customised to fit your mouth and teeth perfectly and comfortably
  • Go about your professional work or attend social occasions with confidence
  • Unlike braces, Invisalign aligners are removable, making eating and teeth cleaning easy and helping you to maintain good oral hygiene

If you are considering getting your teeth straightened or have gaps in your teeth, give us a call. We’ll give you a free initial consultation with a cosmetic dentist to see if you’re a good fit for Invisalign. You’ll find our clinic centrally located on the Gold Coast, and we’re open 6-days a week with extended hours for convenience.

Invisalign Compared to Braces

Whilst braces and Invisalign are both used to straighten a person’s teeth, Invisalign’s clear aligners are much more inconspicuous compared to metal or ceramic braces. Braces are bonded to the outside of your teeth with thin metal wire used to apply pressure to teeth and gradually guide them into place, whereas Invisalign uses clear aligners moulded especially for your teeth to achieve the same result. In some cases, Invisalign might not be suitable for complex dental issues however for most people, Invisalign is a more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing option.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The cost to undertake an Invisalign treatment via our Gold Coast practice will vary depending on a range of factors including:

  • The current alignment of your teeth
  • How many aligners you’ll require
  • The amount covered by your private health insurance

Ashmore dental offers convenient payment plan options to make your investment in your smile more manageable. Ask your dentist at your free consultation with our cosmetic dentists more about our payment options.

Who Can Use Invisalign?

Invisalign is suitable for teenagers through to adults. Generally Invisalign isn’t recommended for young children as their teeth arrangement can change rapidly making it difficult to accurately use Invisalign.

How Long Does Invisalign Take To Work?

The average treatment length for Invisalign is between 12 – 18 months, however this will vary depending on the current alignment of your teeth. Our cosmetic dentists will be able to give you a more accurate estimate during your free consultation as to how long it will take for your Invisalign to achieve your desired smile.

How To Use Invisalign

Wearing and using your Invisalign aligners:

  • Make sure you wear your aligners as per your dentist’s instructions, in most cases it is 20-22 hours per day.
  • Before handling your aligners ensure your hands are clean.
  • After removing your aligners from their packet, rinse them.

Putting your aligners in your mouth:

  • Ensure you have the correct aligner, locate the U/L (upper/lower) and stage number on the aligner.
  • When placing the aligner over your teeth, start by gently pushing the aligners over your front teeth. Then moving towards the back teeth, apply equal pressure using your fingertips until the aligner clicks into place. Avoid biting the aligners into position, this may result in breakage.

Removing your aligners:

  • Starting on one side of your mouth, use your fingertip on the inside of your back molar to slowly pull the aligner from your molars. Repeat this process on the other side, then towards the front teeth before pulling out the aligner.
  • Once the aligner is out of your mouth, rinse it, then shake the excess water away and place it in its box.

Care and maintenance of your aligners:

  • Clean your aligners prior to putting them back in your mouth. Always use a soft toothbrush with water and a small amount of toothpaste (no whitening or abrasive toothpaste).
  • Avoid soaking your aligners in denture cleaning tablets or mouthwashes. These products can damage the integrity of the aligner.

Maintaining your Oral Hygiene:

  • Remove your aligners for eating and drinking, except for water.
  • Where possible, brush and floss your teeth after each meal or snack before re-inserting your aligners. If you don’t have access to a toothbrush, you can vigorously rinse your mouth with water.
  • Visit your dentist for your regular dental check-up and clean. Your oral health is a contributing factor in optimum Invisalign outcomes.

Note: Keep all of your older aligners in a clean plastic bag, or as instructed by your doctor. Keep them out of reach of small children and pets.
